Recent media coverage has highlighted the national issue of abuse of children and young people in sports clubs and other youth groups.

Clackmannanshire/Stirling Council together with Police Scotland have been working with local organisations to ensure they have appropriate measures in place to keep children and young people safe but parents and carers also have a central role in this.

As a parent or carer you can ask the club or group your child attends about their policies, training and recruitment procedures in relation to child protection as well as identifying who the named contact for child protection issues is within the organisation.

If you want more information about this you can speak to your headteacher/head of nursery for more information.
